Geoactive Attending SPWLA Annual Convention 2024

Written by Geoactive | May 09, 2024

The team at Geoactive is delighted to be attending the 65th Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA) Annual Symposium this month.

To be held in Rio de Janeiro from 18 – 22 May, the event marks the annual gathering of industry professionals and experts from around the world. Hosted by the SPWLA Brazil Chapter, the event also marks 10 years of the official existence of the Brazil Chapter. It will be the first time the international symposium has been held in Brazil and the second in South America.

Exhibiting on stands 7 & 8, our expert team will be showcasing the latest updates to our Interactive Petrophysics (IP) well log analysis software. With the 2024 release now live, there are plenty of new and updated features for our team to demonstrate, such as:

  • Faster loading, saving and processing of large datasets – up to x4 faster!
  • Improvements to the ability to save logplot track styles, a utility to update the working sets of multiple wells quickly, and a new way of easily importing and exporting compressed well files from IP.
  • A redesign of our Machine Learning Module for the automation of trial and error when selecting dataset inputs and algorithms.
  • New features for carbon capture and storage workflows.
  • New secure data transfer connections between IP and Open Subsurface Data Universe (OSDU).
  • Numerous workflow improvements for our Image Analysis, Sauration Height Modelling, Cement Evaluation, Pulsed Neutron, Gas Analysis and Python utilities.

In attendance will be our Managing Director, Derek Crombie, along with our technical experts and IP Product Champions Paul Spooner and Tegwyn Perkins. Joining them will be Martin Hester, our Brazilian Business Manager, and Mario Suárez Marañón, our Customer Success Manager.

As well as IP, demonstrations will also be available for IP’s sister product, Interactive Correlations (IC). Our regional mapping and correlation software offers powerful visualization, integration and interpretation of any subsurface.

So, will we be seeing you in Brazil in May? Stop in past our booth (7&8) and reach out to any of our team to arrange a catch up.
